I think you need tp specify what NetApp platform, volume type and what you mean by cleaning.  I suggest you google your own question,  I did that and several answers come back.

-> please check volume utilization  & growth -> IOPS on the volumeIf there are no IOPS, check with volume owner & proceed with lun unmapping / unexport  & then offline / destroy
